The lanes around Cardigan Bay are beautiful and take you through the smallest towns and villages.

Many of the smaller roads make great cycle routes, they are often very quiet.

For 'off-road' routes there is a track from Aberaeron to Llanechaeron and a lovely Sustrans track through the Welsh Wildlife Centre connects Cilgerran (with its castle) to Cardigan along the River Teifi with the possibility of spotting otters. There are circular cycle routes for exploring scenic headlands - try St.Dogmaels > Poppit Sands > St.Dogmaels

DARK ECOLOGY by Seán Vicary

DARK ECOLOGY by Seán Vicary Saturday 12th August 2017 - Sunday 1st October Location: Oriel Mwldan

Seán Vicary’s work explores our relationship with the ‘natural’ world. Taking inspiration from personal (and wider) history, he uses a dilapidated military listening station in Pembrokeshire as the starting point to consider ideas of early warning systems in relation to our state of environmental precariousness. Deeply rooted in ideas of ‘place’, Vicary’s work often takes found objects and fragments from real life which are then digitally manipulated into animated assemblages and replaced into a new, virtual space. Working closely with musicians and sound artists, the results are evocative and successfully uncanny. Opening event with live music from Ceri Rhys Matthews - free entry 4pm 12 August

Jonathan Anderson Pylon Totems

Jonathan Anderson Pylon Totems Saturday 7th October 2017 - Thursday 26th October Location: Oriel Mwldan

Anderson’s work aligns metaphysical ideas with industrial materials: coal, bitumen, sand and soil are regularly used. Often sculptural, his works are simultaneously malignant and beautiful. Pylon Totems, cloaked in rags and bitumen, make pan-cultural references that allude to Crucifixes, Asian Buddhist statues, South American and African voodoo dolls. Yet the inspiration came from the many hundreds of electricity pylons that criss-cross the landscape of Wales. The work functions as a meditative tool to contemplate contemporary issues of ecology, religion and politics. There will be an opening event with a talk from the artist on Friday 6 October at 6pm
